About

Lavender Guard Bands is a group of LGBTQIA+ musicians and color guard who rehearse and perform together in the Willamette Valley area of Oregon. Our goals are to foster community and increase LGBTQIA+ representation of the area through creative expression.

Currently the Lavender Guard is in the process of formation by starting with a perform-in-place ensemble called the Lavender Guard Band. This is an ensemble open to any LGBTQIA+ brass and/or woodwind player, percussionist, or color guard/dancer.

The current plan is to play at local queer events and potentially work towards a marching ensemble that performs in parades. One day we may even be able to organize a field show (similar to a halftime show or drum corps) for members who are interested!

If you are interested in joining or learning more about the Lavender Guard, please fill out our interest form below. You can also find the most current announcements on our blog. Feel free to also send any questions or comments to admin@lavenderguard.com.
